Updating the Church to 21st Century Standards While Preserving its 19th Century Design

Capital Campaign Update - November 2009

Thank you! As I look back on the nearly twelve months since our return to the Church, including the recent 175th anniversary celebration, I want to take a moment to say thank you; to all Church members, to our elected leaders, to our wonderful staff, to Robert and family, to the community at large, and to the talented professionals who worked on our Church. I also want to acknowledge and thank everyone who continues to demonstrate a commitment to the Capital Campaign. As we discussed in our recent semi-annual meeting, the work of the Campaign continues on with the goal of raising the funds needed to address the debt that was incurred in support of the recent building projects. In addition, I would like to highlight two critical goals we have, which are imperative to the continued success of the Campaign; full church membership participation, and a sustained growth in our membership in the coming years. As we move through the Christmas season, and into 2010 (and beyond), we will continue our progression of solicitations (new and follow up), and execute on a series of actions designed to stimulate fund raising efforts. As always, we welcome your participation, ideas, comments, and prayers. Please feel free to contact myself (karns1@yahoo.com or 508-278-0599), or a member of the Finance committee. Current status of Capital Campaign pledges: - Pledges to date: 67 - Amount pledged to date: $447,445 - Amount collected to date: $384,773 Respectfully submitted, Pete Karns Chairman, Capital Campaign Committee

Building Renovation and Restoration Update - May 2009

As you have seen, the scaffolding around the bell tower has been removed! As of April 30th this marks the completion of Phase III of the exterior work, repair and restoration of the bell tower, including painting. As of this date, approximately 80% of renovations and repairs identified by the 2005 architectural study to preserve and modernize the Church have been completed. The Building Committee wishes to thank the members of the committee and interested members of the Congregation and community for their efforts in helping to make these projects a reality with their ongoing input during the construction processes and their financial support.
