All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals and to prayer. --Acts 2:42

Purpose and Doctrine
This church recognizes the Bible as the sufficient rule of faith and practice, and holds that living in accordance with the teaching of Jesus Christ is the true test of fellowship. Each member shall have unquestioned right to follow the word of God according to the dictates of that person's own conscience, under the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit. The following statement of faith, therefore, is not a test but an expression of the spirit in which this church interprets the Word of God.

We are the Village Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, our mission is to worship, love and serve God as we act upon our Christian faith in the world, our
community and among ourselves.

We are called upon to walk in the ways of the Lord and in order to fulfill God's purposes we promise:

To accept one another, offering our forgiveness and love as freely as God has offered it to each one of us.

To share the sacraments with all.

To teach and to discern the will of God as it is revealed to us in the words and teachings of Jesus Christ and recorded in the Holy Scriptures.

To reach out and bring others into our fellowship.
